Post cool things you saw or any commute related frustrations!
I counted how many "Luxury" cars I saw this morning and the totals were kind of surprising.
Volvo= 2
Benz= 1
Caddy= 2
Audi= 5
Assha...BMW= 1
Lexus= 0
Subaru= 3
Lots of Audi considering there is no Audi dealership for 2 hours around.
How was yours?

Ambulance at the usual spot with it lights on. Figured. I drove by there last night, the cops were out there with their lights on. Can't imagine living near there, but people do.

Sadly the only Luggsury car I saw was a 5 series Beemer. Looked well taken care of as well.
Other than that, since I was leaving a little later (past 8am) the freeway was empty so I was doing a very good time. Aherm. I did however chill to some good tunes on my way, like Pink Floyd's Wish you were here, and Nine Inch Nails's Every day is exactly the same. I gotta admit my favorite time of the day to drive is either morning or late at night since its always so pretty and calm. Cold as tits, but calm.

Was snowing out and the traffic reports on the radio made it sound like the apocalypse but apparently my roads escaped the worse. Only thing interesting I saw was a civic who was braking then slid on an icy metal plate, over corrected then jumped a curb.

Slow morning...no Porsches, no Teslas, and an asshat in an ES350 driving like a damn fool. Luckily, Vette weather is not yet upon us, so frankly, I didn't care what she did...since it probably would end with a trailer hitch all up in her grille...literally.

I just pissed at something I heard on NPR this morning related to what our Utah legislation is doing via cars. They just passed a bill giving an additional credit to Hybrid and EV cars. its like $1500 and $1250 respectively. Its not that I have anything against subsidizing the free market with tax payer money...okay I kind of do...but the people who supported it are total idiots blind to the real problem in Utah.
We have bad winter air, a result of geography and industrial processes
How bad? about as bad as China or India on their bad days, but everyone wants to blame the car and you know what? its not the car, its predominantly wood burning, diesel transportation (trucks passing through Utah) and industrial (refineries, and coal). So whats the solution? subsidize a tiny fraction of the market that is only fractionally better for the air than modern Teir II cars anyway. At least one rep is smart, in his descending vote he said "I voted against this because this money could be much better applied by replacing wood burning furnaces with gas, which will have a 100:1 reduction in pollution effect compared to a tiny fraction of improvement from alternative fuel vehicles compared to their Tier II contemporaries." um, yeah.
What makes it even better is that the costs of the program will be recouped by increasing the registration fees for alternative fuel vehicles, thus defeating the point of the credit financially. The dumb things law makers do.

Got 0.3 seconds of air going 60 over a smooth, small railroad track bump.
Rain and dump trucks got my car incredibly dirty after I washed it 3 days ago. It practically looks like I just rallied it.
Had to go the store 4 times due to people adding stuff to my list every other second.

Dude there's railroad tracks everywhere but they're just so abrupt they will kill your alignment, suspension, and bounce you around like crazy. The one I hit I had forgotten about and didn't slow down in time. I may start going fast on it on purpose.
